i20 Wins 5 Star Euro NCap Testing!

There's a new car in town - the Hyundai i20. Buzzing with fresh ideas and smart solutions, it's sharp and stylish on the outside, and packs more interior space than should ever be possible in a supermini. With smooth lines and neat exterior detailing, such as the striking stacked rear light clusters, the i20 is all set to cut a dash on the streets.
Meanwhile, the well-appointed interior includes generous levels of standard equipment, including air conditioning, electric front windows, remote central locking, six airbags and active front head restraints.
The i20 five-door model scored 88 per cent in the adult occupant protection tests, including the new whiplash assessment.
The i20 also scored six out of a maximum seven points in the ‘safety assist’ category, receiving top marks for its seatbelt reminder and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP).
Euro NCAP now insists that 85 per cent of volume sales should be fitted with ESP as standard before a new car can be eligible for a five-star rating.
In child safety testing, the i20 scored 41 out of a possible 49 points, putting the i20 above larger cars including the Vauxhall Insignia and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, according to Hyundai.
NCAP commended the i20 for pedestrian safety too, an area where most vehicles score poorly.
The car features active head-restraints, front seatbelt pretensioners and six airbags as standard.
